Five months before the World Choir Games
Trophies unveiled
Ever since yesterday choirs become increasingly motivated to prepare for the upcoming 2012 World Choir Games: the Champions trophy and the official poster of the 2012 World Choir Games have been presented to the public. The World Choir Games, the international choir competition produced by INTERKULTUR, is taking place in the city of Cincinnati USA in less than five months.
Günter Titsch, President from INTERKULTUR: “The support for the World Choir Games in Cincinnati is fantastic. This trophy will be liked by everyone and makes all participants look forward to the event”. It’s the prize cup for the Champions in each of 23 categories in The Champions Competition.
A senior student at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, Eunha Chung, designed the Champions trophy. It’s to be produced by Rookwood, a traditional local pottery company. Also the official poster of the WCG has been introduced during the presentation. A local illustrator, C.F. Payne, made its contribution and drew the enthusiasm for the event and for singing. Please find here some pictures from the event and of the poster.
The presentation was held within the scope of the Annual Meeting of Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau in Duke Energy Convention Center. The presentation provided atmosphere, because it had both pictures and songs; the Fairfield Choraliers from Cincinnati performed on stage. This choir will also participate in the WCG.
Every two years the World Choir Games, the largest international choir competition is held at different places in the world. From July 4 to 14, 2012 it’s going to be in the USA for the first time ever, in Cincinnati (Ohio). More than 350 choirs from all around the world have registered so far. Registrations will still be accepted in some categories.
