Religions in harmony
“Oh happy day!” – People of different cultures and beliefs need understanding and tolerance when they're meeting each other. This goes without saying at INTERKULTUR competitions, when choirs from all over the world are competing in different musical categories.
For years, choirs from various religious denominations such as Islam, Greek Orthodox Church, Judaism and Christianity have been constantly participating in the events. Singing from own countries and religions demonstrates that choirs bring peace into the world through their songs.
Boundaries are crossed through both the way to competition and joint singing in concerts.
It’s easy to go beyond political and religious boundaries by using the voice of music. It serves as the language of nations and religions.
The stage of the world that continuously fills at INTERKULTUR competitions is a proof for the different kinds of doxology.
As reported earlier there will hopefully be a new stage in the near future featuring a new competition, which is supposed to focus more on the interreligious character. You’re just a mouse click away from getting closer to these new impressions and moments now, as INTERKULTUR told these interreligious thoughts of music and of choral singing in the new six minutes long video “Songs of Spirit – singing brings together religions”. – “Oh Happy Day!”
