Conductors seminar in March
Event announcement in Guangzhou
The Guangzhou Arts Pavilion and INTERKULTUR informed interested people on the conductors seminar in March 2012. Not only conductors joint this event but also many representatives of cultural centers from Guangzhou administrative region.
During the information meeting about the upcoming seminar week for choir conductors (March 12 to 17, 2012) local choir directors, representatives of educational institutions and general representatives of choral music learned about the seminar schedule and about a choral event in November, the 1st Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships. Huang Bing, Director of Guangzhou Administration of Culture, Radio, Press and Publication said to the audience: “Once I was deeply moved by an improvisational performance at the press conference in Graz, those girls singing in an unknown language but catching all the people. That was real choral artistic charm.”
According to Huang Bin the conductor seminar is a great chance for Chinese choir directors to learn more about Western choral music and to have a nice supplement to the preparation for the competition in November. In July 2011 Bin was part of a delegation from Guangzhou coming to the 1st World Choir Championships for Youth and Young Adults in Graz, Austria. The purpose of the press conference at that time was to announce the 1st Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships in Guangzhou in November 2012.
The curators of Guangzhou Art Pavilion, Wang Ping and Hu Yongping, presented the schedule of the seminar, introduced lecturers and answered questions from the audience. Zimfira Poloz from Canada will be among the international lecturers at the seminar week. Gábor Hollerung, conductor and Artistic Director for INTERKULTUR, will offer a special Master Class for conductors. Christian Ljunggren, Artistic Director for INTERKULTUR, is seminar leader as well as a lecturer during these days.
“Nobody should miss the chance to be part of this special pedagogical offer," says Miao Xiangyang, chairman of the Guangzhou Choir Association. More information on the detailed program and registration can be found here.
The 1st Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships will be held in Guangzhou from November 8 to 14, 2012. It’s the third INTERKULTUR event in China already. Find out more information about competition and registration on the official website http://xinghai.interkultur.com.
