Choir and concert in Stadthalle in Graz

A choral symphonic composition

A magnificent event for the whole family including the greatest blockbusters – this took place yesterday in the course of the 1st World Choir Championships for Youth and Young Adults and 2nd Grand Prix of Choral Music.

The famous Dohnáhny Orchestra from Budapest, conducted by Gabor Hollerung, presented film music of highest quality. A choir consisting of 200 voices was on stage and sang music pieces from selected movies, accompanied by film clips, singing and music.
The show choir of this evening consisted of the choirs CantAnima (A), Singakademie Graz (A), Comenius Choir (PL), Kammarkören Sangkraft (S) and Pro Cantu Youth Choir (ZA) and some singers that had been qualified for the concert.

Many listeners sitting in the audience were deeply touched when the music from the movie "Australia" was heard, reveling in memories and with tears in their eyes when other tracks like from the movie "Titanic" were sounding - the program inspired everyone. A total of 2,500 visitors had come and let sweeten their evening like. 2500 visitors who were sure that choral music with orchestral accompaniment in this form offers a great alternative in addition to competitions and friendship concerts in the period from July 10 - 17, 2011.

People who once again like to enjoy choral music may come this evening (Saturday, 16 July) for the last time at the World Choir Championships and the Grand Prix in Stefaniensaal (congress | graz). Here perform some category winners and champions on stage and offer a program with pieces from their repertoire. The participating come choirs from Australia, Hungary, Sweden, Turkey and the Czech Republic. It will be a pleasant and wonderful evening!
