World Peace Award

The World Peace Award of the World Choir Games was awarded for the first time on December 28, 2006. The ceremony took place in a concert hall in Stuttgart - the Liederhalle. The Committee of the World Choir Games, made up of recognized experts of choral music from all continents of the world, nominated the choir conductor Gotthilf Fischer for the first World Peace Award of the World Choir Games. In his decades of service to music, Gotthilf Fischer has been working with his "Fischer Choirs" on the "Road to Peace", bringing people from all around the world together with television and radio programs as well as in concerts. Gotthilf Fischer has already been appointed as an Ambassador of the World Choir Games in 2000. During a special award ceremony, he was presented with the prize by the former President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Walter Scheel, together with Günter Titsch.
