Birthday bumps to John Rutter!

INTERKULTUR congratulates the British composer on his special day

Birthday wishes

The whole international team of INTERKULTUR sends today all the best birthday wishes to its Honorary Artistic President John Rutter!

Rutter, who was given his letter of appointment on the occasion of the Grand Prix of Nations Riga 2017 & 3rd European Choir Games in Latvia also appeared there on stage conducting a 800-voices-choir and his choral hymn “For the beauty of the earth” and as a jury member of the TV show Eurovision Choir of the Year which was co-organized by INTERKULTUR.

Born in 1945 in London, John Rutter studied Music at Clare College, Cambridge where he also published his first compositions. From 1975 to 1979 he served as the College’s director of music. In 1981 he founded his own choir, the Cambridge Singers and has enriched the choral community over the past years with compositions such as the Gloria, the Requiem and the Magnificat. On the occasion of one of his past birthdays he told:

“My life is defined by music, and I'd be heartbroken to be cut off from it, and from the friendships and gossip and encounters it brings. Being a musician is the key to a very happy life."

Therefore the INTERKULTUR team raises their glasses for more happy years to come for and with John Rutter:

Continue to touch people’s heart with your music!
