Workshop "Cantalaning You!"

Juror Òscar Boada invites to explore Catalan musical tradition

Canta al mar - Festival Coral Internacional

As part of this year's choral festival "Canta al mar", which takes place in sunny Calella/Catalonia from October 19 to 23, 2016, the Spanish juror Òscar Boada offers a two-hour workshop about the musical culture of his home Catalonia. Choirs, conductors and individual singers of the festival are invited to follow the choral expert from Barcelona on his musical journey to the Mediterranean Sea.

Òscar Boada is a pianist, teacher and director of the children's choir "Côr Vivaldi". In his workshop the choirs will benefit from his experience as workshop leader and jury member at international choir competitions. Boada will teach on a range of Catalan songs, give an insight in the musical language and will discover the particularities of Catalan music together with the workshop participants.

The workshop will be held on Thursday, October 20 at 11 a.m. in the Sala Mozart. Admission costs 9 Euros per person. Interested choirs and individual singers that want to experience the flair of Catalonia at all levels can still register via mail.
