Choirs meet in the lagoon city

Venice’s history, architecture and also its music are fascinating people. This fascination will also be experienced by the choirs that will travel to Venice for this year’s “Venezia in Musica”. From March 28 to May 2, for the eighth time, INTERKULTUR offers ensembles an opportunity to present themselves to an international public. The Opening Ceremony in the first evening is a proven beginning for this event.

In the following days singers will compete in a total of six categories of various difficulty. While the competitions take place in Lido di Jesolo, the famous seaside resort near the lagoon city, the concerts will be hold in the most beautiful churches of Venice and in its great squares. That’s a possibility for everyone to enjoy music from all over the world. The topics of the event program will be skilfully integrated into the evening atmosphere of the Serenissima, as Venice is also known.

The international jury is awaiting groups of participants from Greece to Singapore, from France to Russia, from a total of 14 nations. The highlight of this choir competition will be the “Grand Prize Competition” on the final day. The prize winner of the choir award “Venezia in Musica 2010” will be drawn from those choirs that will have been invited by the jury. This year’s prize is endowed with prize money of 2000 euros.
