Workshop: "The WOW Factor"
Listen and Sing
Only a few month left until the largest choral event in July! From July 4 to 14, 2012 the 7th World Choir Games are in Cincinnati USA. According to tradition of INTERKULTUR competitions many workshops and seminars will be held during the World Choir Games as well. The program will be extended with the symposium on July 8 and 9, 2012, organized in collaboration with the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). Lecturers from all around the world speak on various topics, one of them is Stephen Zegree.
Zegree, in his own inimitable way he’s famous for, will confront participants with the subject “motivation” and explain how to create a “WOW factor”. Zegree will provide a practical guideline for individual success in the area of music to participants and singers. He talks about these topics also in his recent book “The WOW factor”. Zegree is internationally recognized as one of the most respected vocal jazz conductors and educators. He’s founder of the Steve Zegree Vocal Jazz Camp held every summer at Western Michigan University.
Other famous lecturers to contribute to the seminar days are Kirby Shaw from the USA, Vytautas Miškinis from Lithuania or Anders Jalkéus from Sweden. “We’re sure that pedagogical offers during the weeks of competition in Cincinnati will hold many chances and options for all participants,” says Jelena Dannhauer, project manager of the World Choir Games. More details to come on our website soon. The symposium addresses especially to American choral conductors who won’t be participating in the World Choir Games with the own choir.
The World Choir Games will be held for the first time on the American continent in 2012. The Opening on July 4, 2012 will feature a special program for all visitors. Cincinnati is the first city in the United States to host the World Choir Games. Find more information here.
