Children’s choir „Cantabile“ travels to Cincinnati

After first registrations of choirs from the USA, now the first international choir registered for the 7th World Choir Games (WCG) 2012. The children’s choir “Cantabile” from Russia is coming to the WCG in the United States. For the first time the world’s largest choir competition will attract choirs to the North American continent, to Cincinnati, Ohio.

The boys and girls in the Russian choir are familiar with the competition, as in 2010 they attended the last World Choir Games in Shaoxing, China. They had come to China with great expectations and turned back home with a Golden Diploma (23,96 points) in category “Children’s choirs” – this is encouraging for more!

In recent years the choir has performed in Czech Republic, Slovakia and in Belgium and has even made television experiences at a appearance in the Belgian TV. With this success it’s one of the best children’s and youth choirs of the Russian region of Orenburg and is currently no. 307 in the Musica Mundi World Rankings for choirs. Participation in Cincinnati in July 2012 will affect to this rank for sure!

The 7th World Choir Games are taking place from July 4 to 14, 2012 in Cincinnati, USA. Choirs can still register until December 1, 2011, in a total of 23 categories, among them for the first time a “Barbershop” and a “Show Choirs” category, which are very famous genres in the United States.
