Another guest at gala concert
The choir “In Terra Pax” sings in Graz
Another exclusive concert has been added to the series of gala concerts at the World Choir Championships for Youth and Young Adults (Graz, July 10 to 14). The international Choral Academiy "In Terra Pax" will be part of the program of the World Choir Championships in the "Minoritensaal" in Graz on July 14, 2011. Gala concerts are basic artistic elements on the agenda of an INTERKULTUR event, in addition to Friendship Concerts and Competition Performances.
The choice of repertoire in this evening's program includes famous contemporary pieces like “Oy es dia de Placer” (Thomas Pascual) or “Sleep” (Eric Whitacre) as well as traditional music like the oratorio “Christus” by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. An unforgettable sound experience is thus assured!
The Choral Academy has been originated after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain in 1991 by musicians from Germany and Poland. The aim is, through a varied choral repertoire, to support friendly relations between different countries and to build bridges through music. The initial bridge between Germany and Poland has grown to a network to choristers in France, Spain and the United States. Various conductors from Poland, Germany, Netherlands, Canada, Spain, France and the United States already worked with the choir.
The World Choir Championships for Youth and Young Adults are taking place parallel to the Grand Prix of Choral Music in Graz from July 10 to 17, 2011. The public is invited to attend numerous Friendship concerts and Gala concerts between July 13 and 16, 2011. Find more concert notes here.
