Sing'n'Pray Kobe

After some 173 successful events around the world, INTERKULTUR is looking forward to offer a new destination in its event repertoire: Kobe, Japan.

The International Choir Festival & Competition Sing'n'Pray Kobe will be presented for the first time from the January 25-29, 2018 and brings choirs from all over the world to the island state and familiarizes them to the magic of Japanese culture. The event is organized by INTERKULTUR in cooperation with the Hyogo Choral Association.

Ko Matsushita (Japan) and John August Pamintuan (Philippines), two choral musicians who are renowned beyond the country's borders, will offer various seminars and workshops alongside Competitions and Friendship Concerts in impressive locations of the Asian metropolis. The main venue will be the Kobe Bunka Hall, an impressive concert hall with unique acoustics.

The highlight of the Choir Festival is the annual "Pray from Kobe" commemorative concert dedicated to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami around Fukushima in March 2011. In 2018 the concert will take place for the first time in cooperation with INTERKULTUR and will be expanded by intercultural gatherings at Competitions, Friendship Concerts and pedagogical programs.

Kobe is considered to be one of the most fascinating cities in Japan and is the sixth largest city in the country as well as the capital of Hyōgo Prefecture. For the international choral scene, it is a cultural and touristic place to pray and sing together for world peace.
