A place where even the king loved to stay

Sweden’s most beautiful café is located close to Helsingborg

Helsingborgs Körfestival

Helsingborg is considered to be „the most friendly city in Sweden“ and enjoys this reputation also beyond its city borders. For example, a side trip to the fishing village Skäret at the northern shore of the Kulla peninsula is highly recommended. Here you will find the cafe „Flickorna Lundgren“ (engl. „Lundgren’s girls“). Is was established in 1938 by seven sisters and until today it impresses with its loving and smart appearance and at the same time the cafe is likewise famous and popular for its delicacies and its beautiful prospect of the sea.

Even a royal story is connected to Café Flickorna Lundgren: Whenever King Gustav VI. Adolf resided in his summer house Sofiero Castle in Helsingborg, he visited this café and ordered a „vaniljhärta“ – a vanilla heart filled with pudding and powdered with icing sugar.

The fact that most of the tables are set in the garden is part of the little cafe’s special atmosphere. It’s easy to enjoy the Swedish summer here – Flickorna Lundgren is opened from the beginning of May to the middle of September every year. The coming season will thus open in time for “Helsingborgs Körfestival” from May 8-13, 2018.

Please note: The Early Bird Registration for Helsingborgs Körfestival ends on October 9, 2017. Find out more about participation in the event here.
