A musical world trip opens “Canta en Primavera”

26 choirs from 8 countries sing together in Málaga

Canta en Primavera - Festival Coral Internacional

The audience in Teatro Cervantes went on a musical world tour on Wednesday evening by listening to four excellent choirs from Argentina, Turkey, Norway, and Finland. They went on stage to bring their traditional music to Málaga and showcase their great singing skills in the Opening Concert of “Canta en Primavera”.

Each choir presented its music in a fantastic way. Bel Chorus from Norway even brought some people in the audience back to the year 2014, when they performed “My song “ by Ēriks Ešenvalds, the official song of the 8th World Choir Games in Riga. Great memories…

In the next days, the participating choirs will compete in different competition categories, sing in Friendship Concerts throughout the city and have a great time by meeting each other and sharing the same passion for singing and choral music.

According to this idea the end of the concert at the same time marked its highlight: All participants attuned to the festival singing together, conducted by juror Jan Schumacher from Germany: “Hello” was the first piece, followed by “Dona nobis pacem” and the Turkish dance “Istanbul Kasap Havası” as a special welcome to six participating choirs from Turkey – and the atmosphere in the concert hall reached its climax. So the Opening Concert closed with an inspired, singing and dancing audience in Teatro Cervantes.
