Bring the Northern Lights to Shenzhen, China

Northern Lights Organ Concert and MUSICA MUNDI Academy Seminar for Choral Conductors

INTERKULTUR China

The Northern Lights Concert in Riga Dome Cathedral last year during the Grand Prix of Nations Riga 2017 & 3rd European Choir Games was one of the event’s highlights. This year INTERKULTUR China will bring the concert to Shenzhen in Southeast China.

The concert will take place on June 16 in Shenzhen Concert Hall, one of the very few concert halls in China in possession of a pipe organ, and also the only pipe organ in Shenzhen. The original program has been kept to a large extent, combining special selected pieces for China.

General Artistic Director of INTERKULTUR Fred Sjöberg, Artistic Director of INTERKULTUR Romāns Vanags, World Choir Council member and Vice President of China Chorus Association, Chen Guanghui will be the conductors of the concert. Together with organist Karl-Magnus Jansson and 5 top choirs from the region, the concert is sure to be a significant music event of the year.

INTERKULTUR China together with Shenzhen Chorus Association will jointly hold the 2018 Spring MUSICA MUNDI Academy Seminar for Choral Conductors in Shenzhen during June 11-16. The seminar consists of lectures, workshops and master classes, and is open to all conductors and choral music lovers despite background or professional level. There will also be open rehearsals of Northern Lights concert every evening for the participants to have a glimpse of the amazing concert on Saturday.
