“The Creation” in Riga is a highlight of the Grand Prix of Nations & European Choir Games

410 singers from all over the world will meet in Riga for a distinguished performance of Joseph Haydn's "The Creation" in Riga Dome Cathedral on July 21 – organized as an international Sing Along Concert this will be a special highlight of the Grand Prix of Nations Riga 2017 & European Choir Games.

The amateur singers will be joined by the Latvian Festival Singers, a 100 people strong choir consisting of professionally trained singers from some of the finest choirs of Latvia. For the musical accompaniment members of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra will build an ensemble.

The Artistic Director of the concert, Nicolas Fink has conducted the Berlin Radio Chorus, the radio choruses of MDR Leipzig and WDR Cologne, the Choeur de Radio France, the Coro Casa de Musica Porto, and the Edvard Grieg Choir, among many others. He has additionally been the chorus master in concert projects with the Bavarian Radio Chorus and the RIAS Kammerchor, and has prepared major choral works for Sir Simon Rattle, Marek Janowski, and Thomas Hengelbrock. In 2014, he began his tenure as the choral director of the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Chorus.

Nicolas Fink, has also recently been named the third juror for the “Eurovision Choir of the Year” TV talent competition on July 22, where he will judge the choir performances together with British composer John Rutter and Latvian mezzosoprano Elina Garanca.

International Sing Along Concerts are the artistic highlight of the most active part of the international choral scene. The project World Festival Singers started in 2015 and unites about 1.400 singers from all continents in spectacular performances of choral symphonic masterpieces.
