Chorfest Watzenborn-Steinberg
Choir festival in INTERKULTUR’s home city
From June 17 – 19, 2016 the German choirs „Harmonie“ 1906 Watzenborn-Steinberg e.V. and the “Sängerkranz 1876 Watzenborn-Steinberg e.V.” will be celebrating their 250th anniversary together and invite national and international choirs to visit them in the German city of Pohlheim near Frankfurt.
Both choirs are not only connected with INTERKULTUR by being located in the same home city in Hesse. From its beginnings both groups have regularly participated in the INTERKULTUR events.
The anniversary program includes a national choir competition organized independently by the two choirs.
The variety of musical performances apart from the competition is supposed to be warranted by some international participants. Thus, INTERKULTUR invites international ensembles to visit its home region and be part of this anniversary event.
Along with concert performances by the international choirs short workshops with choral experts will be part of the event. In order to intensify the intercultural exchange a barbecue for national and international participants is being planned. On the departure day the city of Pohlheim will be entertained once more by international singing, when all national and international choirs will meet for a Singing Together.
Participation Opportunities
The anniversary program includes a national choir competition organized independently by the two choirs. The variety of musical performances apart from the competition is supposed to be realized by the participation of international participants.
Along with concert performances by the international choirs, short workshops with choral experts will be part of the event. Moreover, international choirs have the opportunity to participate in an Evaluation Performance.
In order to intensify the intercultural exchange, a barbecue for national and international participants is being planned. On the departure day the city of Pohlheim will be entertained once more by international singing, when all national and international choirs will meet for a Singing Together.
