Addition to the announcement for youth dance groups and folklore ensembles

The appeal to the choirs and orchestras of the world to come to the 6th World Choir Games to Shaoxing (China) and to create one of the most beautiful and largest music festivals has caused an immense approval in many countries. A lot of groups prepare themselves to take part in Shaoxing from the 15 – 26 July to present their abilities to a wide international public. However the organisers received again and again requests to open up this festival for dance groups and folklore ensembles as well.

Due to these requests the organisers decided to announce a dance project in addition to the World Choir Games and to arrange a respective programme part for dance and folklore groups of any kind. Thereby it doesn’t matter if the groups cultivate folklore dances of their home country or jazz and pop dance. Dancing, singing and making music together brings people and nations together and helps to develop mutual understanding. Present your dances to Shaoxing! Delight thousands of visitors from China and all over the world with your performance of folklore and modern dances.

All non-professional dance and folklore groups of any formation and artistic standard are called on to participate:

• International, national and regional dance ensembles
• Dance groups of cities and municipalities
• Ensembles of universities and colleges
• Independent dance ensembles
