Simon Halsey

Enthusiasm, humour, perfectionism and passion make Simon Halsey a worldwide sought-after conductor and lecturer. Born in 1958 in London he has led the Berlin Radio Choir as its principal conductor since 2001.
Invited by Sir Simon Rattle he took over the leadership of the City of Birmingham Symphony Chorus in 1982 and he still holds this position. Furthermore he conducted the Radio Broadcasting Choir Hilversum, the Northern Sinfonia Chorus as well as the choral programme The Sage Gateshead. Halsey received the Federal Cross of Merit in 2010 for his credits regarding choral music.
