"PER MUSICAM AD ASTRA"
September 11 – 15, 2013 | Toruń, Poland
In cooperation with the worldwide renowned choir „Astrolabium“, INTERKULTUR proudly presented the first International Choir Festival & Competition in Toruń/Poland: PER MUSICAM AD ASTRA, 1st International Copernicus Choir Festival & Competition.
All choirs were invited to present themselves to an international jury in different categories like Pop, Jazz, Sacred Music and others. Special attention in the competitions was given to contemporary music.
Thanks to the Festival of Choral Music, those who chose not to be placed in competition, got the chance to join a big celebration of choral music and sing with international and local choirs. Rehearsals and coaching with choral experts, evaluation performances and professional vocal training additionally provided a chance for further education.
PER MUSICAM AD ASTRA, 1st International Copernicus Choir Festival & Competition is named after the astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, who was born in Toruń in 1473. The city is located on both sides of the Vistula River and is known as one of Poland’s most beautiful cities. The medieval town center with its 14th century Town Hall and the remaining sections of its walls was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.
