Participation in the European Choir Games – “Champions Competition“ is by the decision of the Artistic Committee. Amateur choirs may apply for the competition provided that they can present a certificate of qualification or delegation. The competition is open for choirs with sufficient experience in international concerts and competitions.

Participation is possible for choirs

• from countries on the European continent,
• from further countries, which participate at European sports and cultural events, like
  • Armenia
  • Azerbaijan
  • Israel
  • Georgia
  • Kazakhstan
• meet one of the criteria below:

Recommended for:

The participation at the European Choir Games – “Champions Competition“ is recommended for choirs fulfilling the following crieria

• choirs which are on the current MUSICA MUNDI World Ranking List on places 1 – 500 (the list can be found at www.interkultur.com)
• choirs which have received a Gold Medal at the World Choir Games, Asian Choir Games or World Choir Championships since 2008 in a comparable category.
• choirs which have received a Golden Diploma at an INTERKULTUR choir competition in a comparable category
• choirs which have received a recommendation for the „Champions Competition“ at one of
  the previous INTERKULTUR events.
• choirs which have received a 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize in national or international choir competitions, or an evaluation comparable to the Golden Diploma of the INTERKULTUR choir competitions. The competition must be recognized by the artistic committee. (A copy of the certificate has to be submitted with the registration.)
• choirs which have been delegated by national and provincial cultural ministries or national and provincial choral associations. (An official letter concerning the delegation has to be submitted with the registration.)
• choirs which have been delegated in writing by a member of the Council of the World Choir Games
• choirs who have qualified themselves on the spot at the Qualification Concert
